Why you should never quit on your dreams

It is very obvious that there are lots of people living in this world have big dreams but only a few have been able to achieve their dreams. It quite hurts you know, but the choice of a man is left only in his own hands. If it were possible that we all could share our labour and agonies, it would have been a lot easier in life. One thing that I have experienced, or more precisely, that we have experienced is that not everything we plan to do work out as planned. There would be mistakes, faults, discouragements, and lots of other overwhelming stuff especially when it comes to achieving success and this seems to be one of the major reasons why people quit.

If every human's thoughts were working orderly and exactly as planned, then everyone on earth will get exactly what they want, including the lazy. And if this be, how then can we differentiate winners from losers? How can we differentiate the brave from cowards? Who can we point to and say "this man is a success"? Where do we get our motivations? .

Yes! It is true that everyone wants to be successful, but if success were to be so cheap, there would be no such thing as competitions, no challenges, no need to work hard etc. and if it gets so easy to become successful, everyone will end up doing all their work by themselves and this will be even a harder time for everyone which can no longer be considered as success. Of course! Who would be achieving his dreams and choose to be an employee for someone else in other to receive a small payment? If this was the concept of life, then I think life would suck. Are you pondering with me?

The world needs people that are ready to be creative, that are ready to work, ready to think, ready to act, ready to learn, ready to be productive, people that can conquer their fears, and most especially, in times of difficulty, people that are ready to never quit, because champions weren't born the way they are, they were made to become the champion that they want to be.

It is very easy to see a lot of people talking about their dreams, but hard to find many work for it. A lot of people can hear, but only few are willing to listen or pay good attention. The difference between these two acts is something that you have to derive within yourself and all by yourself because no one else is going to teach you how to do it.

If I may ask, what are the reasons why you want to achieve your goals? Is it because you want to be successful? Or because you want to gain financial freedom? Or it could be because you want to live a happier life with your family and friends. Whatever it may be, I believe that you are doing something about it, but do not think that it is going to be easy on the road to success. Your imagination can make things sweet and keep you at ease but the physical actions required to get to your destination will surely be otherwise and harder than your expectations. At that point in time when the going gets tough, that is when you need to develop courage, that is when you need to be confident, that is the point where you have to persevere, where you need persistence, patience and discipline, that is when your zeal has to rise, that is when you emotions must not determine your action, that is when you have to keep your mind away from discouraging opinions, that is when you need to be self-motivated, that is when you need to believe strongly in yourself, and most importantly, that is the point when you should never try to quit. You have to be that tough guy that gets going even when the going gets tough, you must make all effort to achieve your dreams.

So why is it that you should never give up? I'll tell you why, because you have everything that you need to become what you want, because you have to prove to the world that you can do it, because you want to be that successful man that the world sees as being creative and productive, because you want to be that man that is more valuable than gold, because you want to stand among kings and not being oppressed by the rich, because you don't want to ever regret your actions, because you want to show to the world that you are strong, because you want to be the source of other people's motivation. And you! cannot afford to surrender now because now is the time for you to put those imaginations into reality.

On a book titled "Think And Grow Rich" by "Napoleon hill" was a story written about a man who quited on his quest for gold search during the California Gold Rush. Napoleon hill on his book said "One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat. An uncle of R. U. Darby was caught by the “gold fever” in the gold-rush days, and went west to DIG AND GROW RICH. He had never heard that more gold has been mined from the brains of men than has ever been taken from the earth. He staked a claim and went to work with pick and shovel. The going was hard, but his lust for gold was definite. 

After weeks of labor, he was rewarded by the discovery of the shining ore. He needed machinery to bring the ore to the surface. Quietly, he covered up the mine, retraced his footsteps to his home in Williamsburg, Maryland, told his relatives and a few neighbors of the “strike.” They got together money for the needed machinery, had it shipped. The uncle and Darby went back to work the mine. 

The first car of ore was mined, and shipped to a smelter. The returns proved they had one of the richestmines in Colorado! A few more cars of that ore would clear the debts. Then would come the big killing in profits. 

Down went the drills! Up went the hopes of Darby and Uncle! Then something happened! The vein of gold ore disappeared! They had come to the end of the rainbow, and the pot of gold was no longer there! They drilled on, desperately trying to pick up the vein again-all to no avail. 

Finally, they decided to QUIT. They sold the machinery to a junk man for a few hundred dollars, and took the train back home. Some “junk” men are dumb, but not this one! He called in a mining engineer to look at the mine and do a little calculating. The engineer advised that the project had failed, because the owners were not familiar with “fault lines.” His calculations showed that the vein would be found JUST THREE FEET FROM WHERE THE DARBYS HAD STOPPED DRILLING! That is exactly where it was found! 

The “Junk” man took millions of dollars in ore from the mine, because he knew enough to seek expert counsel before giving up. Most of the money which went into the machinery was procured through the efforts of R. U. Darby, who was then a very young man. The money came from his relatives and neighbors, because of their faith in him. He paid back every dollar of it, although he was years in doing so. 

Long afterward, Mr. Darby recouped his loss many times over, when he made the discovery that DESIRE can be transmuted into gold. The discovery came after he went into the business of selling life insurance. 

Remembering that he lost a huge fortune, because he STOPPED three feet from gold, Darby profited by the experience in his chosen work, by the simple method of saying to himself, “I stopped three feet from gold, but I will never stop because men say `no’ when I ask them to buy insurance.” 

The word "QUIT" should never exist in your dictionary of life. Do not spend your hard and precious times on something only to give your glory and deserved reward to someone else. You never know, you may be three steps away from achieving your goal.

It is not those who fall that loses the race but those who refuses to stand up. 

Anytime you have this feeling to quit on your task, always think about the reason why you started, keeping in mind that "For every NO! that you get, you are few steps closer to a YES!" So keep moving, keep working hard, utilize your potentials and never quit until you have achieved the purpose of starting up your mission.
